Overnight Facilities

Strawbale Lodge: This is a two-storied structure built of strawbales which provide excelleStrawbale Lodgent insulation year round. It sleeps a maximum of fourteen in a combination of single and bunk beds. There are five separate bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a large living/dining room area. The large bathroom has two composting toilets, two showers and two sinks. There is ample hot water for showers and dishes. A wood stove heats the building if necessary. The lodge is powered by solar electric panels and is wired for both 24 volts DC and 110 volts AC. 

Accommodation fee: $125 per night up to 10 people; $10 per each additional person.

ersimmon Point:
This building sleeps a maximum of four. There are two single beds in tPersimmon Pointhe loft and a double futon mattress/ couch downstairs, a kitchen/dining room with a 2.4 cubic foot gas refrigerator, and a bathroom with a sink, shower and composting toilet. There is ample hot water for showers and dishes. A wood stove heats the building if necessary. Power is by solar electric panels and is wired for 12 volts DC. 

Accommodation fee: $50 for up to four; $15 per each additional person.

 

Cedar Bottom: This small building "crystal with entryway" is undergoing renovationCedar Bottom . It sleeps a maximum of two adults or one adult and two small children. There is a two-burner propane stove, cold running water, and a bathroom with a shower and composting toilet. Two single futons are available for sleeping in the loft. Passive solar hot air panels heat the building. A wood stove provides backup heat if necessary. Power is by solar electric panels and the building is wired for 12 volts DC.

Accommodation fee: Not open at this time.

 

Garden Cabin: Set on level ground near the Becky Barn in the center of Narrow Ridge. Former residence of the cooper, this cabin includes a kitchen, dining room, two porches and a large bedroom with three beds. It sleeps a small family or up to three adults comfortably. There is a four-burner propane stove, cold and hot running water, a bathroom with a shower over tub and a composting toilet. There is ample hot water for showers and dishes. A propane space heater in the kitchen heats the building if necessary. 12 volts direct current electric power is supplied by solar electric panels and is used for lights and for the toilet vent fan.

Accommodation fee: $250.00 month. A portion may be contributed in labor

 

Meeting Facilities

Mac Smith Resource Center: This building houses the Narrow Ridge business office. It includes the Mac Smith Library (can seat 25 people as a lecture room), a large dining room, a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom has a sink and a composting toilet. The building is heated by passive solar. Wood stoves provide backup heat if necessary. Power is by solar electric panels and is wired for 12 volts DC and 110 volts AC. 

Accommodation fee: $70 to $150 per day.

Notes:

  • Reservations and Deposits: Reservations must be made two weeks in advance. Narrow Ridge must receive a 50% deposit at least one week in advance.
  • Linens: Visitors must provide their own sheets, blankets, pillows and towels.
  • Kitchens: All kitchen equipment/utensils are provided. Kitchens are equipped with refrigerators (except Cedar Bottom), two-burner gas hot plates (Persimmon Point and Cedar Bottom) or gas range (Strawbale Dormitory and Resource Center)
