Agriculture Program

As part of Narrow Ridge's commitment to sustainable living, we support natural, organic farming methods such as composting, mulching, companion planting and biological pest control.  The Wilburn Gardens provides fresh organic produce ready to be transformed into healthy refreshments for events, meals for the Earth Literacy Experience and farmers. Some portion of the gardens are donated to local area food banks or soup kitchens. We have witnessed cooperation in action through many volunteers, including Narrow Ridge Board members, friends of Narrow Ridge, and students from The University of Tennessee who donated their skill, time, and talent in preparing the garden areas and surrounding grounds.

Our program is used as a learning tool so we can research, experiment with new ideas, learn basic organic growing methods, and enjoy the fruits of our labor.
