Volunteer Programs

Many opportunities exist for those interested in Earth Literacy and sustainable living to volunteer their services at Narrow Ridge Center.

They include assisting with the following activities (but are not limited to!):

  • Repair antrowel.jpg (31903 bytes)d maintain Earth-friendly dwellings such as strawbale and passive solar building

  • Trim vegetation around grounds & buildings and on trails

  • Upgrade solar collection systems
  • Garden organically (perhaps as a Willing Worker On Organic Farms, or WWOOFer)
  • Organize and catalogue Resource Center library
  • Raise funds
  • Publicize Narrow Ridge events
  • Publish the RENEWAL newsletter
  • Become a member of the Board of Directors
  • Develop and manage the property and asset database
  • Keep records of financial information
  • Research state-of-the-art sustainable technologies and construction practices
  • Help with construction of environment-responsibly designed homes on surrounding land trusts
